Books and Bikinis Reading Challenge - read 10 books about mermaids, the sea, the beach...by the end of the summer! hopefully soon!
(7 out of 10 read)

Please be patient with the fewer and far-between posts....we have a new 'half' born in April and things are slow as we adjust and try desperately for more sleep. (It's a girl!)

Memory Monday: Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott

So, a few days before Christmas, Trackgeek and I watched Little Women (the Winona Ryder version), which I forgot how much I loved. Then I started remembering all of the details the movie didn't have time to show. So...I read it again. For the...oh, about 12th time, I'd bet.

Here's the movie poster - a lot of favorite actresses in there, and a sweet rendition. Plus, it's my favorite Mr. Bhaer. I would definitely give it an A as far as movies go.

And the book - I have the old Grosset and Dunlap edition with these color plates in them, and it's beautiful to read. For those of you that haven't, go and do it. It's one of those books where the characters develop - and it is and incredibly written piece of work. When I was very young I liked reading about Amy best, then as a teenager, Jo, and now married with a child, Meg. You relate to all of them, it seems. It is definitely graded an A. My well-worn copy will continue to be read over the years, over and over.

I've only read it once but it was as a teenager I think and I remember realizing that while the movie was great, the book was awesome.

With all the books you read I'm sure you've read some of shannon hale's books. Hers are books I read at least once a year. Def my favorites.
