Sticky Notes

Books and Bikinis Reading Challenge - read 10 books about mermaids, the sea, the beach...by the end of the summer! hopefully soon!
(7 out of 10 read)

Please be patient with the fewer and far-between posts....we have a new 'half' born in April and things are slow as we adjust and try desperately for more sleep. (It's a girl!)

Entertainment Tag

I was tagged by CC Chronicles (who incidentally I just won a book from....yay!). Trackgeek isn't participating, because it's 4 in the morning and my child is crying - the waiting game, for those of you who know. Last day for the giveaway, incidentally. I'm too tired to link. Scroll down to the post below to find one.

1. What book is your favorite?
North and South, by Elizabeth Gaskell. Some others? Sure...The Mad King by Burroughs, Anything by Avi, Witch of Blackbird Pond. I suppose mentioning more classics is too obvious. Victoria Hanley's Seer and the Sword trilogy.

2. Oldest books you own?
I have a first edition O' Henry book, very old copies of Robert Louis Stevenson books...quite a few actually.

3. Any autographed books?
On our honeymoon to Portland, Oregon, we stopped by Powells. (Of course) There we found a book by Avi - True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, which I love. It was signed to a 'Jenny' (which is my name), and so we figured it was a sign and got it. Besides that, Diane Curtis Reagan has an out-of-print pb book somewhere....Rosemary Wells and Joan Bauer.

4. Biggest name author you've ever met?
I've met Stephenie Meyer - I didn't even know Twilight existed before that! Rosemary Wells, Joan Bauer, and a few others.

5. How many books do you own?
~2000. We live in an apartment, so a lot are packed and shoved in dark corners.

6. Favorite movie?
Of all time?! No way, man. How about movie based on a book. That would be The Scarlet Pimpernel. Excellent, and Ian McKellan as a bad guy? AWESOME.

7. Favorite Disney movie?
Sword and the Stone - incidentally, also based on a book by T.H. White.

8. Movie that always makes you cry?
This is going to make me sound like a guy, but Million Dollar Baby. I love that movie and bawl at the end.

9. Scariest movie?
I don't watch and I don't read scary movies. I had the worst nightmares as a child, and I'm not keen to relive those.

10. Most romantic movie?
Uh. Oh! Period piece dramas are romantic, and Trackgeek and I really enjoy watching them. You know, North and South, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion...of course all based on books!

...ok, we just skipped all the music ones...on purpose...dude, this is a book blog...

16. Favorite TV show?
Trackgeek and I are on a Perry Mason kick, which are mostly based on Erle Stanley Gardner's books about the same named lawyer who is just dang good at his job. Besides those, we watch Columbo and Murder She Wrote, although I must confess I've tried to get him to watch Alias (maybe just the first season) and Bones (first couple seasons).

...skipped some more....

19. When traveling, entertainment of choice?
When Trackgeek and I go somewhere we bring a stack of books. I'm not kidding, at least a dozen. I mean like Christmas, etc. Then we stay up and read and read because...we can.

20. Favorite home entertainment outside of books, movies, music, and TV?
Ryan and I play games all the time. We actually have about 50 different board games and a variety of card games.

I'm not tagging anyone, because I'm not sure how much this has been around the mill. Feel free to just take it and go with it - but I'd recommend going to CC Chronicles and getting the full tag first since I didn't do it all.
Have a Happy Thursday!

I loved the Scarlett Pimpernell ( and I think I just butcjered the spelling... it's been a long day of spreadsheets, all the letters look the same). I have it on dvd. I may have to watch it again this weekend.

Congrats on the book, he's mailing it on Sat. so you should have it next week. woo-hoo!!
